Jet Slade: Rise Of The Black Hood - Exclusive New Promo 2019

The Road to becoming a Solo Filmmaker.
It's been a journey of a ride for Leeds based filmmaker and director Edmahoo. It hasn't been easy, but perseverance, hard work and determination has got him to this stage where he is now. The term 'Solo Filmmaker' literally means what it says, Ed has solely taken on his project single handed. From making cups of tea for the actors to the final stages of filming, he has done it all.

This is not because he didn't want anyone else involved in the production side of things, he just knew what a big responsibility it was going to be for someone who took on a role...

He explains, "I can be very spontaneous, there is a lot of ideas floating around in my head and I tend to jump from one role to the next, and without explaining myself I expect others to understand what I mean. It can sometimes sound very confusing, but I have since learnt to break down my ideas into stages... I think this is because, the story is all in my head and I know the ins and outs. The actors only know what they're supposed to know for that particular scene."

Man of Many Talents, Master of Non.
Film making truly is an art in itself, there are just so many things to learn and understand. With many talents under his belt that he has acquired over the years, they have really come into play with the making of his Indie feature Jet Slade: Rise of the Black Hood. He is always willing to learn, he never stops and just keeps on trying to perfect his skill. It's like anything you practise, it soon becomes second nature and part of you.

Jet Slade: Rise of the Black Hood.
Currently in post production, Ed has spent a weekend putting this exclusive Promo together. Featuring most of the cast in the movie, he is very proud of the hard work they have put in to get this project off the ground.

With last minute film re-shoots and getting the cast in for ADR, the film is really starting to take shape. Like any action movie Ed is big on sound, he just loves going to the cinema to experience the awesome sound production and work they put into making a film come alive. In this respect he has spent a lot of  time on the sound for Jet Slade by presenting it in Dolby Digital 5.1 AC-3 Surround Sound. He just loves sound placement and the process of how it all works and enhances the viewing pleasure of a film.

Unfortunately some social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter do not support AC-3 surround sound and will recode it to a stereo format. But you can always make your file a Zip file and send it to clients etc.

Sarah Beadnell - Cast Member

Sarah is the latest cast member to be making her debut appearance in, Jet Slade: Rise of the Black Hood. It took us six months to find the right person and then Sarah appeared...

Standing at a statuesque height of five feet nine inches and with a passion for sport and athletics, Sarah has the right credentials for playing a Slade Enforcer... But due to the time schedule, she will be playing the role of an avid newscaster.

Originally from Leeds, UK, Sarah is a professional hair stylist and in her spare time partakes in martial arts. She says, "Her aim is to become adept especially in self defence."

The promotional poster below is an official head shot of Sarah as a cast member in Jet Slade. We think she looks absolutely stunning, great work by director Edmahoo.

Very shy in nature, Sarah is fun-loving and very humorous once you get to know her. She uses this facade to hide behind her more serious side, which showed when we started rehearsals, filming and in her photo shoot... She was a true professional.

Whether you're in the front of the lens for a photo shoot or on set for a film shoot, being in front of the camera isn't as easy as it looks. Filmmakers/Photographers Models and Actors work really hard to get that right shot and let us tell you, "It isn't easy!" Sarah took direction very well and once her nerves settled, we were able to capture some amazing shots. This was her first time ever having a professional photo shoot and being in any kind of independent feature. At the end , Sarah thanked  director Edmahoo and said, "I've really enjoyed myself and thank you for the opportunity!"

"This is what Jet Slade: Rise of the Black Hood is all about... Giving people the chance to do something totally different and out of their comfort zone. A chance to do something they never thought possible, a confidence booster."

Below are a few behind the scenes images and screen grabs of Sarah on set...

Being able to take yourself away from yourself and playing someone totally different is a task in itself. Sarah was able to do this and with only two script rehearsals, was ready for filming.  It was a very long day for her but we managed to get it all completed.

We are nearing the final stages of Jet Slade and we may recall Sarah in for extra scenes.
Checkout this stunning photo of her... We do like to spoil our cast members.

We really hope you've enjoyed reading this blog post, look out for news and updates from us.

Actor Profile - Josie

Did you notice Josie in our recent Show Reel above, and how many times did you see her? Josie makes her debut appearance as the silent but deadly assassin in Jet Slade: Rise of the Black Hood. She also went through a vigorous training schedule for her character. Very into her fitness, Josie also has a background in Freestyle Kickboxing and has also participated in women's rugby.
Jet Slade: Rise of the Black Hood is filled with great and enthusiastic people, some of which have never acted before, but have gone on to pursue and study acting by joining casting agencies and partaking in their workshops. This film has really brought out the best in people, it's boosted their confidence, they've met and made new friends, some whom they probably would never have met... It has certainly been an eye-opener.

Standing 5ft 8in tall Josie looked great in character, but it wasn't smooth sailing as a lot of hard work went into getting her to the stage she was at, which consisted of: Body conditioning, fight training and choreography and martial arts. Below are some more images of Josie.
Josie has finished filming all of her scenes for Jet Slade: Rise of the Black Hood, but it doesn't mean we just forget about her. By writing about our cast members, we still like to remind you and them that they are still part of this film project.

Josie trained and worked really hard for her part, as you can see by the images above. She put in a hundred percent and it showed when it came to filming her scenes. A perfectionist, Josie would be aggressive yet sometimes a little too hard on herself in training, but it showed how determined she was to get it right. It was a way of channelling her inner demons. You would never expect this of her as her personality is placid loving and very calm.
Below is an exclusive 'behind the scenes' video of Josie working out and going through a padwork session with Ed (the director). This is just a snippet of some of the awesome training she went through, but the results were positive and very impressive. She was on a healthy diet, lost weight, looked leaner and got much stronger. Ed had a really strict training and body conditioning regime designed for Josie, it was very important to him as he wanted to make sure she (and any other cast member involved in a physical scene) was conditioned and prepared for her fight choreography as so not to get injured.
Josie says, "The best part of the film for her was the training, I thoroughly enjoyed that side of it."

Her performance as an assassin was exceptional!

Ed says, "Every cast member is special, it's what they contribute to Jet Slade: Rise of the Black Hood that makes it unique and special."
